The Department employs a two-person maintenance department that works to keep the state-owned airports in good shape for public use. Their activities include:
- Mowing
- Spraying
- Obstruction removal
- Lights/wind socks/beacons
- Compliance with environmental regulations
- Advice on wildlife management
